ARCHIVE: House prices rise by an average of 4%
According to the October 2017 report by Halifax, house prices across the UK have risen by an average of 4% in the year to September. Halifax also found that the average price of a property in the UK has risen to £225,109 which is the highest it has been*.
What this means for home owners and home buyers
Adam Nanson from Your Mortgage Expert comments:
“During the summer, there were some reports which found that house prices were falling slightly**. However, it looks as though this might have been fallout from Brexit or a seasonal variance as house prices look to be back on track.
“Halifax has put this increase down to a shortage of properties for sale and more people in full-time employment. Whatever the cause, it’s clear that people are still willing to pay a premium for the property they want.”
