Archive: More homes available for First Time Buyers
According to the latest figures from RightMove, the year has started positively for First Time Buyers. Not only are there more First Time Buyer appropriate homes available. Prices for properties suited to First Time Buyers are also pretty much static year on year. This was reported on the What Mortgage Website in January*.
The figures show that, there are 6.6% more properties with two or fewer bedrooms on the market this year compared to last year. And, that First Time Buyer prices only increased by 0.1% year on Year.
What this means for First Time Buyers
Adam Nanson from Your Mortgage Expert comments:
“For years, many First Time Buyers have struggled to get their foot on the property ladder. Now though, with prices more static and with more choice at the bottom of the property scale, things might be looking up.
“Added to this, we have the new Stamp Duty rules that came in December 2014. This means that First Time Buyers purchasing at the bottom of end of the housing scale are likely to pay less Stamp Duty.”
